The story of Acrylics Plus
Andrew Cozens started Acrylics Plus in 2001.
Deciding to leave his job as a production manager at a local plastics factory (after 20 years in the industry) and search for something else.
He asked around, speaking with various people in the area. He came across Ian Pratt a self-employed engineer and spoke in length about manufacturing acrylic trophies and awards.
Ian said he would like to help Andrew out and offered him the use of his workshop and tools (for a small percentage of sales.) This gave Andrew the opportunity and the means to explore the possibilities and to grow the business.
From those very humble beginnings...
Acrylics Plus now offers a wide range of stock colours and material thicknesses. Employing several on-call staff to respond quickly during the busier periods.
Producing hundreds of original designs, using either independent designers or customer ideas. Acrylics Plus has only ever made to order and looks to do so into the future.
Acrylics Plus has always been in the business of challenging itself, finding new and exciting ways to use acrylic sheet. One of these ways was the purchase of a laser cutter and engraver in 2005.
Like opening a door, it has added a whole new level of possibilities and almost infinite precision to both Acrylics Plus and its customers.
